The 2014 Silverado offers all-aluminum engines backed by 95 years of truck-making heritage and propelled by innovative technology. And now it’s better than ever before thanks to EcoTec3, an entirely new engine family that optimizes fuel economy and power based on how you drive. No matter which EcoTec3 engine you choose, Silverado delivers you the most fuel-efficient and powerful Silverado lineup ever. (Final EPA estimates not yet available.)
Active Fuel Management®
Active Fuel Management® seamlessly deactivates cylinders (turning V6 and V8 engines into V4) when full engine power is not needed, like when you're cruising at freeway speeds. All power is immediately available when you need to accelerate or tow.
Variable Valve Timing
Variable Valve Timing optimizes camshaft timing to offer optimal power across engine speeds to improve low-rpm torque and high-rpm horsepower.
Direct Injection
Direct Injection injects gasoline directly into the combustion chamber of the cylinder to allow for higher compression ratios, which ensures a complete burn for increased efficiency and optimized power.

Whether you're off the road or on, cruising the freeway or hauling equipment to the jobsite, Silverado has the capability and know-how you need to get the job done with confidence.
Tow with confidence
Ultimate towing capability comes from a combination of power and the ability to remain in control of your truck. For starters, the optional new 6.2L V81 MAX Trailering Package will offer improved maximum ball-hitch towing capacity. Now 7-pin and 4-pin trailer connectors are included in this and every trailering package. When it comes to hooking up, the available Rear Vision Camera makes it easier to connect the trailer.
On the road, Trailer Sway Control works with StabiliTrak® to automatically apply the brakes or reduce engine power when needed to keep you on the road. Auto Grade Braking automatically downshifts the transmission to aid in going downhill. Tow/Haul mode keeps the transmission in the right gear, for longer periods, in stop-and-go driving and on hills.

A comfortable interior, designed for truck use
The all-new interior is developed entirely around functionality. Setting new standards in both amenity and functionality, only premium materials and the smartest technologies were used in creating this interior. The new front seats are built for all-day comfort, and a reimagined use of interior space provides more rear-seat legroom in the Crew Cab. From the driver seat, controls are grouped by function and strategically located for optimum visibility and accessibility. And if you want to talk "organized", new control pods connect you to top-of-the-line technology while the reconfigurable centre console features spaces for laptops, hanging file storage, multiple USB ports,2 and more.
