If equipped and enabled, the available AutoSense Power Liftgate lets you open your liftgate simply by approaching the rear of the vehicle with your key fob. The vehicle must be in PARK to use this feature.
Before performing the steps below, be sure to enable the AutoSense Liftgate using your centre display. With the vehicle on select: Vehicle Settings > Comfort and Convenience > Hands-Free Exterior Storage Access > Open Only
1. Approach the liftgate with your key fob.
2. When you’re within 1 metre of the liftgate, chimes will sound and the exterior lights will flash.
3. If you stay in that area for 4 chimes, the liftgate will open unless cancelled.

After closing your liftgate, you will need to reactivate the AutoSense Power Liftgate feature before using it again. Here’s how:
If your key fob remains in the area within 3 metres of the liftgate for over 2 continuous minutes, it will become muted (unresponsive). The AutoSense Power Liftgate feature won’t work unless you unmute the key fob with one of these actions:

NOTE: Before attaching a trailer, it is recommended that you disable the AutoSense feature as described in Disabling/Re-enabling the AutoSense Power Liftgate.
To re-enable, press any button on the remote key or open and close any vehicle door.
The liftgate opening may cancel if you step more than 1 metre away from the liftgate during the initial 3-second period of alerts without returning.
The liftgate is designed to open with a purposeful approach, using the areas and process defined in this article. If the liftgate alerts an undesired opening, simply step more than 1 metre away from the liftgate within 3 seconds. You can also use a single press of the liftgate button on your key fob or the exterior liftgate touchpad/emblem to cancel.
